Day 19 - Wed 13 May

I heart you :)
-0-

Our hotel
We had a nice chilled out day planned for today.
-0-

Do I really have to do this?
We found a doggy boutique called Cheko's, with the cutest dogs, but the oddest items.
-0-

They do a good breakfast
-0-

No, he's not trying to run away from Elaine!
-0-

Chinatown
Apparently, this is the biggest Chinatown outside of .. well China I guess?
-0-

It has interesting streets ...
-0-

... and interesting shopping opportunities
Note from Elaine: I'm not with him, have anything to do with him, or know him in anyway!
-0-

But let the buyer beware!
-0-

It seems they have a street lighting problem though
-0-

Bustling Chinatown
-0-

With lots of photo opportunities
-0-

Incomprehensible signs
-0-

and lots of little old ladies playing cards?
Ying ho ping we hear them say :)
-0-

The TranAmerica Pyramid
From Chinatown we walked down to the Port of San Francisco harbour front, past the business district. All a bit soulless.
-0-

Some recent earthquake damage
Peter did think he felt the earth move!
-0-

You looking at me kid?
-0-

The Bay Bridge
It wasn't as cloudy as it looks in this picture.
-0-

Swine Flu has taken a grip in San Francisco!
"Cough"... "cough"
Peter - Note to work, feeling a bit peeky ... may need to work from home for a week or so on our return.
-0-

Elmo's stand in
You may have noticed Elmo's absence today. He wanted a day off, so we had to make do :)
-0-

Some other Elmo candidates
-0-

A bustling Pier 39
We stopped and had a late lunch at Pier 39.
-0-

He was after a liquid lunch
You have to admire his honesty though:)
-0-

Popped in to Macy's
Didn't buy anything though! It's all very purple :)
-0-

A ticket for walking too fast?
-0-

Elmo decides his stand in's were rubbish
We popped out for one last cable car ride to Fisherman's Wharf and Elmo came with us.
Then back to the room to start packing :(
Note from us: For those of you who thought we are back today, we're not! We are home tomorrow (Friday), but Peter will sleep as soon as we get in, and Elaine will sort everything out! Back to normal, or as normal as we can be with a new puppy on Saturday :)

Driven today - 0 miles
Running total - 2,611 miles

  1. Is that picture of Pete as a Chinaman a homage Peter Ustinov in Disney’s One of Our Dinosaurs is Missing?
