Day 16 - Sun 10 May

Seals in Monterey harbour
We decided to take a look at Monteray harbour this morning before we drove off to San Francisco. We were watching two seals enjoying the morning sun. What a life :)

A fishing boat in the fog
There was still some fog off shore, which made things a bit spooky.

The hire car?
It could be!

The harbour

Mmmmmm sun
We found more seals hanging out near the coastguards boat. These were a lot more lively, vocal and smelly.

Work it baby :)

Morning meeting

There is nothing like a morning snuggle
-0-

You looking at me?
-0-

Is this angle better?
-0-

A slight disagreement
The seals were a little grumpy, but you've gotta love grumpy :)

Santa Cruz harbour ... and what's that in the water?
Yep, another seal. We stopped off at Santa Cruz, just because we could, and had a look at the harbour. The beaches were heaving with people, not only was it sunny and hot, it was Mothers day too.

The hire bike?

The black capped, pointy beaked, greeby bird
-0-

Yep ... another seal
-0-

But look how cute they are!

Even cuter in pairs
It's either seals or Peter standing in front of boats ... which would you choose?
-0-

Not a plastic bag (or a seal), but a tiny jellyfish
-0-

Elaine on a windy beach ...
or should that read a windy Elaine on a beach?
Note from Elaine...no it shouldn't!
-0-

And you thought we'd forgotten Elmo
-0-

We finally reached San Francisco...
Even the birds have gangs!
-0-

One small step for Elmo ... one giant leap for Muppet kind
... well it was a slow picture day!

Driven today - 136 miles
Running total - 2,573 miles

  1. Lovely picture. I guess you can say Elmo has been everywhere (literally). What sort of sick weirdo sticks an innocent stuffed toy up his arse!

I'm calling the plush toy abuse line. No doubt you'll be arrested when you arrive back in the country and be held accountable for your crimes!

Note: Would have been funnier if you could have only seen his head.

  2. My EYES My EYES ! :( Hope you're going to throw that toy away now it's infected.

Mind you I was wondering if we were going to get an elmo/sea lion shot - now THAT I'd have paid good money to see. ;)
